Traditional figures with milonguero dynamics and musicality.
Milonguero Magic focuses on the "Club Style" that became popular in the downtown clubs of Buenos Aires in the 1950s, and its variants are still danced today. It’s a close embrace tango that explores rhythmic variations with small decorations—Perfect steps for the most squishiest dance floors!
Prerequisite: Milonguero or equivalent.

BOLEOS & GANCHOS for ADVANCED dancers
with Pablo & Noel
April 30th - June 4th, Wednesdays: 7 pm
(no class on May 14th - take the Bailongo class instead!)
Expand your tango vocabulary to create a dynamic and fun-filled dance while exploring the ins and outs of Gancho and Boleo combinations! An in-depth look at the movement mechanics of each element and how to combine them in an elegant, comfortable manner, both in open style and close embrace frames. Emphasis will be placed on the ganchos/boleos of both the follower and the leader.
Suggested prerequisites*:
Tango 8, or a minimum of 3 years tango experience (including a Gancho series and a Boleos Series)

INTRO to MILONGUERO STYLE

A deep dive into this signature style from Buenos Aires. The milonguero, or club style, which originated in the 1950's in the downtown milongas of Buenos Aires (often small and crowded) and which is still danced today, is characterized by small, rhythmic movements danced in close embrace.
Prerequisite: Abrazo or Cosy Embrace mini-session or something equivalent.

The technique, movement, and exploration of these off-axis elements.
Prerequisite: Tango 7 plus a close-embrace style session, or a mini-session on volcadas, off-axis movements, single axis turns or equivalent experience.
Due to the type of movement (which involves weight sharing), it is preferable to register with a partner.
