PABLO VERON - Back in Montreal
Tango Workshops for INTERMEDIATE & ADVANCED DANCERS
NOVEMBER 29th - December 7th, 2025
''Elegant, graceful, powerful and an unparalleled creative force . . .
To see him move will change the way you see tango.''
Pablo Veron, the dancer's dancer, the star of the movie The Tango Lesson, of the show Tango Argentino, as well as of countless other productions will be back in Montreal to give workshops during a 10-day period: November 29th - December 7th (2 weekends plus a couple classes during the week in between)!
The inspiration of an entire generation, and the reason why many of our teachers began dancing in the first place, Veron is the creator of a unique style that has won him the respect of tango dancers worldwide.
Heir to the tradition of the great Argentine masters and an innovator of unparalleled creative force, Pablo’s dancing serves as a true link between the old and new generations. Graceful and precise, with an incredibly fluid yet dynamic style, he is recognized as pivotal in the revival of this dance’s popularity and is considered by many of his peers to be one of the greatest talents in the history of tango.
Proud to share his expertise, Pablo teaches worldwide inspiring dancers of all levels through his workshops and performances. He adores Montreal and has taught numerous workshops at Studio Tango Montréal since our opening in 1997. His most recent visit to Montreal was for Bailongo in 2018.
Workshops planned for March 2020 were canceled due to the pandemic and we were unable to find a time for him to come afterwards. We are therefore super excited to welcome Pablo back to Montreal very soon!
CLASS LEVELS & DESCRIPTIONS
Pablo has mastered the art of structuring his classes like no other. With decades of teaching experience, he presents his material in a clear, logical, and practical way, enabling students to build from simple concepts to complex figures in a way that truly makes sense. A generous and passionate teacher, his classes last at least 1h30. Be prepared for classes to run past the scheduled end time.
We have chosen to give titles to some of the classes on the schedule, selecting some of our favorite Veron themes. For the other remaining classes ( example: TANGO CLASSIQUE, ADVANCED SEMINAR, etc), Pablo will choose the topics, giving him the freedom to focus on what he feels is most relevant for the group.
New material will be presented in every class. There will be something for everyone — whether you’ve taken workshops with Pablo before or this is your very first time.
Minimum prerequisites are listed; however, advanced dancers should note that the technique and mechanics Pablo teaches in the lower-level classes are of the utmost importance for dancers of all levels, and particularly relevant for those planning to take the more advanced classes.
In the intermediate-level classes, he teaches a mix of techniques essential for comfortable, connected dancing, combining organic, fluid approaches with elegant and practical steps for the dance floor. He may revisit a few familiar figures, but always demonstrates them in new ways with fresh dynamics.
The advanced classes are really advanced and very fast-paced.
EXAMPLE (to give an idea): If you have just finished Tango 7 or Tango 8 in 2025 - you would normally not be advanced enough to participate in the Vals class or the Advanced seminar. Contact us to find out more - sometimes exceptions can be made!
If you are an experienced dancer and this will be your first workshop with Pablo, we encourage you to also register for some of the lower-level classes. This will help you better understand Pablo’s technique and method, enabling you to get the most out of his classes.
If you are not sure about your level and how it corresponds to this workshop and the prerequisites listed, then please contact us (send us a brief description of your tango experience - where you took classes and for how long). It will be our pleasure to help you out.
We are limited to accepting an equal number of leaders and followers per class. Please note that there will be no extras on call to balance the classes. We strongly recommend registering with a dance partner.
